Sponsor a Sanctuary Resident
When you sponsor an individual sanctuary resident you know that you are making a difference in a life and making a new friend. As a sponsor you contribute a fixed amount to the monthly costs of your chosen sanctuary resident. You will receive a card with information about your sponsored friend with details about their likes and life here in sanctuary. Sponsorships can be paid monthly, twice a year or in a one-time payment.
Chicken friend sponsorship: $10/month or $120/year
Turkey friend sponsorship: $12/month or $144/year
Duck friend sponsorship: $12/month or $144/year
Goat friend sponsorship: $25/month or $300/year
Bee friend (colony) sponsorship: $5/month or $60/year

Sponsorship dollars cover food, bedding, housing maintenance, and routine health care to keep the herd/flock healthy. (We don’t expect sponsors to cover the unpredictable costs of veterinary care in the case of illness or injury)

Being growers of food as well, self-sufficiency is important to us. So in operating the farm sanctuary aspect of Piebird we employ that sustainability philosophy as well. Donations to the sanctuary and volunteers are amazingly helpful (thank you!) but we always make sure that we are able to operate entirely on our own (just the two of us) if need be. So many sanctuaries close down and the animals are re-homed. We’ve been setting up Piebird to make sure it lives on after us by staying small, growing slowly and making sure the core is self-sufficient.
